WHAT TO EXPECT
Patients feel a soothing warmth as laser energy gently penetrates tissue and boosts your body’s own regeneration powers to relieve your pain. Treatments are painless and fast (5 to 10 min).
Results can be immediate but the most observed results are after 3 to 5 treatment sessions. The body continues to benefit from the effects of the therapy for 18-24 hours after treatment. During this time, modulated cellular activity leads to decreased pain and inflammation.

ThermoStim is a state-of-the-art, innovative technique that provides Soft-to-Deep Tissue Massage with Hot or Cold Therapy (Thermo) and Electrical Stimulation (Stim) simultaneously. This combination decreases pain and inflammation and allows for a deeper soft tissue treatment than massage alone.
ThermoStim has been shown to effectively decrease pain, break down scar tissue, decrease muscle spasms, promote healing, and improve range of motion. This technology is superior to others due to the unique combination of treatments, leading to improved patient results.
ThermoStim uses a “Graston-like” tool to perform a deep tissue massage but allows for anesthetizing the area using hot or cold while electrically stimulating the area all at the same time. This provides for optimal results in the shortest amount of time.
Radial Pulse Therapy gives a Deep Tissue Massage using an electrical current through a piston, increasing circulation to the area, which helps the body heal itself more efficiently. This technology is used for people suffering from various conditions, including chronic neck and back pain, shoulder injuries, elbow pain, Achilles tendon or foot pain, and limited range of motion due to scar tissue.
Adhesions tend to develop after injury, causing pain and pressure on the nerves. Radial Pulse Therapy breaks up the scar tissue and adhesions, alleviating pain and improving your range of motion. Most patients report some pain relief after the first treatment. However, the effects are most prominent following the second or third treatment. Results are seen from anywhere from 3-9 treatments.
Infrared Light Therapy, also known as Cold Laser Therapy, is a treatment option that offers significant relief of pain and inflammation with no pain or side effects.
The device works by delivering light energy in the form of photons to damaged cells to increase blood flow and stimulate the body’s natural physiological healing activity, similar to the process of photosynthesis in plants.
Infrared Light Therapy is versatile and can be used on any injured body part or tissue. The treatments are not only highly effective but short in duration, lasting from 5-10 minutes. Patients have reduced the need for surgery using this non-invasive technique.
The Graston Technique (GT) is an advanced method of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that is combined with rehabilitative exercises to improve musculoskeletal function. It incorporates the use of six specifically designed stainless steel instruments to aid the Clinician in the detection and treatment of soft tissue dysfunction.
The Graston Technique instruments work by detecting and amplifying the feel of soft tissue restrictions to the hands, similar to how a stethoscope amplifies the sound of a heartbeat. The benefits of GT include improved outcomes, faster return to function, increased patient satisfaction, and improved surgical outcomes via management of scar tissue.
GT is used to treat a variety of conditions, including:
- Tendinopathies, such as tennis elbow and Achilles tendonitis
- Fascial syndromes, such as plantar fasciitis and trigger finger
- Ligament pain syndromes
- Edema reduction
- Scar tissue
- Entrapment syndromes
- Myofascial pain syndromes
Spine Decompression Therapy is an excellent alternative to surgical and invasive treatments for conditions of the cervical and lumbar spine. This therapy is performed on our state-of-the-art 3D ActiveTrac™ table. The 3D ActiveTrac combines traction, decompression, and 3D movement all in one device, allowing the Clinician to target your specific pathology more effectively than other treatments.
The treatment takes pressure off of structures in your back and neck that are causing pain, including discs, nerves, and facet joints. Most patients experience significant relief within the first few sessions and continue to see progress throughout treatment. Traction therapy can effectively treat back pain, neck pain, herniated discs, muscle tension headaches, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome, and sciatica.
The Kinesio Taping Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion.
Latex-free and wearable for days at a time, Kinesio Tape (KT tape) is safe for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological, and other medical conditions. This therapeutic taping technique not only offers patients the support they are looking for, but also rehabilitates the affected condition as well.
By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, the KT Method alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting effect forms convolutions in the skin, increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas. Patients see faster and longer lasting relief of pain, as well as faster return to sports, exercise, and normal activities of daily living.
Paraffin Therapy is a treatment that provides deep heating to the hands, wrists, and fingers. This treatment is beneficial to those suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and orthopaedic injuries to the wrists, hands, or fingers such as tendinitis, sprain/strains, and fractures.
The soothing warm paraffin wax covers all the surfaces of the hand and wrist to provide maximum deep heating effects. Patients will feel less pain and increased mobility immediately with this treatment, allowing for other Physical Therapy treatments such as stretching and exercises to be more effective.
Ultrasound Therapy is a treatment that uses high frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries to stimulate a therapeutic thermal (heating) or non-thermal response.
Heating or Thermal Ultrasound Therapy penetrates into deep tissues to help break down unhealthy calcium deposits and other hard tissue accumulations, including tight muscles. Non-Thermal Ultrasound is used for acute injuries like joint sprains by stimulating blood flow, reducing inflammation, and facilitating rapid healing. Both types of Ultrasound Therapy improve metabolism and blood flow, which enhances the body’s natural healing abilities.
We also offer a unique treatment called Auto-Ultrasound Therapy, which can target more discrete areas of injury, such as the hip or the groin, while maintaining patient modesty.
Electrical Stimulation Therapy, or TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), is a treatment for pain that also promotes soft tissue healing. It works by delivering small amounts of electrical current to the injured tissues, creating low frequency stimulation. This prompts the body to secrete endorphins and other natural painkillers to help alleviate pain and discomfort.
Most patients describe the sensation as “tingling” or “pins and needles,” but not uncomfortable. Treatments last 10-15 minutes. In addition to pain relief, other benefits include decreased swelling, increased muscle tone, restoration of normal movement, and acceleration of the healing process.
Hot Packs and Cold Therapy (Cryotherapy) are treatments that can be used individually or in combination with Electrical Stimulation Therapy (TENS). The benefits of Heat Therapy include pain relief, increased blood flow via vasodilation, increased pliability of muscle and soft tissues, and improved joint mobility. Cold Therapy is also beneficial for the relief of pain as well as decreasing swelling via vasoconstriction and preventing soreness in muscles after exercise or manual treatment.
Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a comprehensive assessment tool used to determine dysfunctional movement patterns and predict injury. These dysfunctional movement patterns create compensatory patterns which eventually lead to injury. Most, if not all, NFL players and Olympic athletes are given this assessment preseason to determine his or her weaknesses and mobility restrictions.
This screening provides vital information to the Physical Therapist or Athletic Trainer to work on limitations and compensatory patterns utilizing manual therapy and therapeutic exercise interventions found during the SFMA screening.
Studies have shown that performing SFMA screening during the pre-season will help reduce and prevent injuries during the regular season. For example, we know that gluteal muscle weakness is a main cause for ankle sprains. In addition, a history of low back pain and core weakness is a predictor of knee ligament injuries. An individual would not normally associate these two body parts and their influence on injury. The assessment can predict these deficiencies and help prevent the concomitant injuries in Athletes.
